Storage of data
If you contact me about teaching or tuition, I store names and contact details (which includes some or all of: name of parents, name and age of pupil, e-mail address, street address and telephone number) provided as part of that enquiry. This data collected will only be information provided by you. I do not collect any names or contact details from you without your knowledge or consent.
The lawful basis for storage and processing of this data is defined in GDPR Article 6(1)(b) – Contract. Any such data provided to me will be used solely for the purposes of responding to an enquiry, providing further information and/or a quotation, providing the requested service and (where applicable) invoicing for the service provided. No data will be passed on to any third parties, or used for sales and marketing purposes outside the scope of the service requested by the individual.
The data is stored on my mobile phone (name, phone number, email address), on my home computer (name and email address) and as a paper-based back-up (all contact details listed above).
If you choose not to go ahead with tuition or teaching, or if you do not respond to a reply to your enquiry, your data will be stored for a maximum of three months.
If you choose to go ahead with tuition or teaching, and a verbal or written contract is entered into for the provision of this service, data will be stored for a period of 6 years after the end of the tax-year during which the service ended.
Your rights
You have the right to request at any time which of the above data I hold about you and, if you believe it to be incorrect, to request a rectification. My contact details can be found on the home page of this website. You have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you request rectifications which are not made.
