Fiction

I have always loved writing. Actually – I have always loved reading and writing was a natural progression. At school I was the girl who wrote “ novels” for my classmates to read.

As an adult I decided to enrol on a writing course which had two fantastic results: one was that I met the girl who is now my best friend, and the other is that by working with a writing mentor, I not only improved my own writing but became much better at teaching creative writing to others. As a bonus, I have written and published a children’s book.

I have disabled friends, and I felt that there weren’t enough children’s books with a disabled main character – and so I wrote one!

Broccoli’s Dream is about a fairy who can’t fly. She is bullied for her disability by some of the children in her class, and she is left out of activities by well-meaning adults who tell her she cannot do the same activities as her friends. The book is about how she learns to stand up for herself and finds a way to achieve her dreams. It’s aimed at children aged 7-11 and is available from Amazon as both Kindle and paperback versions. You’ll find it under the pen name Jennifer Victor.

A short story prequel to Broccoli’s Dream. It’s Broccoli’s birthday and she has overheard her parents say that her birthday present is going to change her life. Broccoli’s Birthday is available as a free download
